Spectrum TV Guide

Cloud powered TV guide and VOD app for Charter Communications deployed to 30 millions+ households across the United States. Highly optimized for a quickly loaded ready-to-navigate UI, with low latency, smooth animations, low resource and bandwidth usage.

Developed multiple iterations of the Spectrum TV Guide for the leading broadband connectivity company Charter Communications. The guide features TV programming, TV channels and on demand video streams, personalization, DVR, asset rental & purchasing, and integration of video streaming apps including YouTube, HBO Max & Netflix.

As of July 2024, it has been deployed to 30 million households across the United States.



Tasks

  • Front end development with a focus on memory footprint management, latency and animation optimization, user experience and video streaming.
  • Technical Lead advising a remote 6-person development team on performance optimization and the specifics of the integration of the ActiveVideo CloudTV platform.
  • Integration into customer's ecosystem, deployment supervision and fine tuning.
  • Creation of canned versions for load testing using simulated data and APIs.
